2Sides (New York, New York)

Cast: Chris Connolly and Karina Mikhli

Let’s face it: regardless of who you are or how old you are, relationships take work. They inevitably become messy, because humans are emotional and irrational.

2Sides is a 2prov (2 people doing improv) that focuses on these relationships and how there are always 2 sides when you deal with people. Our improv is neither comedic or dramatic but it will have elements of both: think of us as improvised theater that explores all the messy, funny, uplifting, and confusing parts that occur when two humans interact.

Performance:

Sunday, 7 PM (PS)

All The World’s A Zoom Stage (International)

Jon Cancio, R. Kevin Doyle, Sheri Flanders, Fabian Garza, Orla McGovern, Amy Moule, Laxmi Priya, Luke Rimmelzwaan, Kavya Srinivasan

In this time of a global pandemic, there are so many things we can’t do, so many people we can’t see, and so many moments we miss. Yet humanity’s stories, both dramatic and comedic, are shared through art, culture, music, and storytelling, as they cross different geographical borders and time zones into people’s hearts and imaginations. To explore and honor what it is to be human, an international cast of 10 theatrical improvisers from 4 continents and 7 countries, will utilize the medium of Zoom to thematically explore the moments of loss, regret, and discovery that all humans in the world share.
This ephemeral and unique 35 minute show will be performed one time only and is created specifically for the Dramatic Improv Festival by R. Kevin Doyle and Jonathan Pitts. The show’s 10 cast members are: Jon Cancio (Singapore), R. Kevin Doyle (Honolulu, HW), Sheri Flanders (Chicago, IL), Fabian Garza (Mexico City, Mexico), Orla McGovern (Galway, Ireland), Amy Moule (Melbourne, Australia), Laxmi Priya (Bangalore, India), Luke Rimmelzwaan (Brisbane, Australia), and Kavya Srinivasan (Bangalore, India).
